Elle, the Selfless Octopus

Elle, the Selfless Octopus
Mild-mannered and courteous

Always there to aid her friends
Helping out with odds and ends

Jane the Clam was feeling down
Elle hugged her to cure that frown

Lent a hand to Sharky Mark
When he lost his way in the dark

When Bill the Orca got harpooned
She quickly tended to the wound

Starfish Selene all a-tangle
Tentacles quick to unmangle

P.G. Sting Ray lost his zap
Revived with Elle’s electric tap

Coral Annie — mourns her reef
Her leggy friend shares her grief

To Bebe the Sea Ane-mone
Best mate she has ever known

Jellyfish, Marlin and Flounder,
At day’s end her friends surround her
