Thanks to Jorge Guillen for sharing this image on Pixabay for my free, and appreciative, use.

From the tight weave
of Betsy Ross
the U.S. flag
has turned to floss.

Red, white, and blue
old stars and stripes
now represent
our masks and wipes.

Fraying edges…
mild depression….
Believe in wind’s
task to freshen.

Though spirits flag
in false-truth sea
we raise red flags
to liberty.
