I am forever apprentice
Mom, what have you done?
All I do is portentous
Yet my life is a pun.

I’m an apprentice forever
I look up to you all.
I am witty and clever
Yet I always feel small!

I’m an apprentice! That’s settled
Signed with blood, set in stone.
I’m committed but nettled.
That’s a fate of my own…
