Party time!

Friday night, it’s party time!
Just kidding — I’ll be in bed by 9.

Wine in hand, I hit the couch.
Blanket ready, time to slouch.

Sadly, not Netflix and chill.
Ben & Jerry’s is my thrill.

Midlife crisis anyone?
Nah, I’m havin’ lots of fun.

Sex and the City, season 5.
Oh, I really love my life!

Carrie B’s got nothin’ on me,
I think to myself, with sad glee.

I nod off; the ice cream drips
right into my bag of chips.

With a jolt, I straighten up,
almost dropping my wine cup.

Wait, it’s midnight — what the heck?
No wonder I’m sore in the neck!

Time for bed methinks, hooray!
I live to sleep another day.

I get up, my knee joint creaks.
I should work out — it’s been weeks!

Well, that’s for another day.
Now it’s time to hit the hay.

Party’s over everyone.
Wasn’t that a load of fun?!
