In a world of text messages
and ‘spell check’ passages
I have been waiting for ages
for those handwritten pages
of your romantic phrases.

Those phrases so lethal
can overdose mere mortals
turn mixed feelings neutral
and the cupid feral
Let’s make them immortal

So that I can peruse
slews of commas’ abuse
red circle verbs’ misuse
replace “loose” with “lose”
and rewire my mind’s fuse.
