The age old
conundrum:
Why must
you insist

to presume
me an
optimist …
or pessimist?

Kindly
desist from
incurring
my wrath

For it’s a
simple
matter of
third grade math —

Life has
taught me
to call a
spade a spade

I refuse
to fall on
a logical
switchblade —

When I
see a cup
filled up
halfway

no gotcha
mind trick
will my
realism sway —

If anyone
asks again,
I’ll reply
under oath:

“Is the cup
half empty,
or half full?”

“Um, it’s Both!”
