Healthcare Nightmare

I went to see the doctor
To get a little pill
She had nothing to offer
While the wider world fell ill
Plagues sneak in, quiet as bats
They lurk in warm exhale
Our faces are their habitats
No warning by email
Wear a mask, don’t touch anything
Stay away, don’t pass it on
While some fat cats are winning
We march, and sigh, and soldier on
Most people will recover
We’re all waiting for vaccine
But while we wait, we wonder
Why are our hands so clean?
