Hey — Look at Me

I got my AZ on!

What if you were the only one,
The only one of your tribe,
Would you feel a special worth,
Or simply try to hide?

Would others think there’s something wrong,
Lacking what they had?
Would that make you worry,
And feel especially sad?

Or would you stand up proudly,
Displaying your different sort,
And say, “Hey, look at me!”
Would that be your retort?

Such is the case in the AZ world,
Where most words are adopted by science,
Like azotobacter and azeotrope
Which are both measures of compliance.

Or azathioprine and azoturia,
Which refer to conditions or diseases,
And not the most common ones
That often result in sneezes.

But here is one lovely AZ word,
That holds a singular power -
Ruling the early Southern Spring,
Behold The Beautiful Azalea Flower!:
