I’m Monday, First of the Seven Days,
The frontrunner of the week.
Getting through my twenty-four hours —
It’s not for the weak.

I have the attitude of the hare,
But the speed of the tortoise.
You’ll have to get through me,
You have no choice.

I tried to trick you into liking me
By making MondayMotivation a hashtag.
I don’t care if you actually do,
I trend on Twitter every week — I like to brag.

I envy Friday the most,
A little bit Saturday, too.
Sunday is my partner in crime,
We like to suck the joy out of you.

If I had to pick a colour,
It would definitely be black.
But you assigned me to blue,
The saddest of the pack.

I’m Monday, the all-powerful —
I love to crush your spirit,
I make you hate the rest of the week,
Even if there’s a holiday in it.
