In Memory of Jerry Springer

Romance for All

--

I gaze at planes that soar above the hulking trees
And veer wistfully at ships in rocky seas
And then adore the bees that buzz amid the spring
And you intrude to ruin it all with some dumb thing

Your cousin says she understands me and you don’t
And in the backseat of my car she makes the point
That you don’t treat me right — the way she knows how
And that I shouldn’t be with such a bloody cow

The planes are soaring high above the hulking trees
And ships are splashing in the depths of rocky seas
And bees still buzz, those nasty flies, amid the spring
And I’m missing you, you beautiful sweet thing.
