With each birthday she’s not counting

Fourth of July
Was born this fine day
My firecracker

Met in fifth grade
Been married a while
Fell for her smile

Advanced was me
Noticed she’s bumpy
Advanced was she

Said no bedding
’til after wedding
Married at twelve

I wanted four
Discussion of kids
She wanted two

Compromise key
So I’m thinking three
Through after two

She threatened worse
Kept bucks in her purse
Shopping’s her curse

Marriage lasted
Though not forecasted
Almost fifty

Not issue free
More doctors to see
No warranty

Presents — oops none
Birthday’s are still fun
Right, Honey-bun?
