Let Your Nature Freak Flag Fly

You can’t successfully revolt against your entire world

These colors don’t run, red, white and blue,
But they are not the color of any true human hue
Another flag, yellow, says “Don’t tread on me”
She who held it was trampled in the insurgency

I saw once, a banner, green, blue and white,
It was everyone, no borders, no flags, no spite
We spangle our symbols with colors, with stars
But we, carbon, will kill for what we claim is ours

With malice to “others” we conquer and slay
Steal stars, overhead, they still shine anyway
Kill two birds with one stone, and kill generations of song
Plant one tree, and see, the only home to which you belong
