This dancing Dachshund’s dream of parks,
was prompted by a Lab’s deep barks.
Dulcet tones were Diva Bella,
Dax first heard her acapella.
Accordion accompaniment
with Bella’s bold voice still out front,
was fav’rite song Dax polka-ed to,
he had to know, “got short legs too?”

From what he heard, his heart’s clear choice,
but Diva’s tryout, like The Voice,
did not allow for Dax to see,
his back was high as Bella’s knee.
Then later, when he saw her form,
he knew their union, not the norm,
could be the source of ridicule,
but love wins over any rule.

It turns out Bella felt the same,
already knew the Dachshund’s fame.
Their romance, not palace intrigue,
though some thought Dax out of her league.
Headlines: “Married — Dax Caught Bella”
Some wrote, “Lab Retrieves Her Fella”
But no sooner were they wed,
the gossip started, rumors spread.
