From the Streets to the Sheets

Cosmo, a common house cat, the furry monster in disguise, always running around, a feral look in her eyes.
A stray she once was, matted and on the street, Like a queen, she now resides indoors and eats
Although he swore, “No, not another cat!” I quickly changed his mind and now she’s living fat.

Never Fear, The Night Zoomer Is Here

Zooming around the room, right by my head; playing with a plastic bag, and jumping on the bed
Maybe she caught a whiff of catnip, faintly in the air, I close my eyes and say a little prayer
She clears her own path for these 3 a.m zooms, running, jumping — knocking my knickknacks around the room
I know I will wake to a scene that looks like war; my dresser in shambles, my clothes strewn across the floor.

If I’m Not Full I’m Hungry

Once a starving kitten from the streets, she now has no problem demanding food and treats.
Upon first moving in, she gained weight so fast; she surely had to be pregnant — I was aghast.
As the days turned to weeks, I learned she is quite a brat — I also figured out she is not pregnant, just fat.
