If you’ve a mouth that’s full of teeth
which hurt and all need filling,
your dentist is the one to call,
he’s ready, able willing.

You might have fangs like Dracula,
or teeth like Druid stones.
Ashamed to give a toothy grin?
Your local dentist owns

the means to make a perfect smile.
You have to grasp the nettle.
He might remove a tooth or two,
or brace your mouth in metal.

With novocaine to numb the pain,
he’ll get to work with gusto,
and drill out all the nasty bits
until your teeth are ‘just so.’

In olden days a man came round
with pliers and strong arms,
extracting teeth — the screams were loud.
This treatment held no charms.

Now dentists can solve many ills;
he’ll chip off foul deposits
that gave you dog-breath all these years
and kept you in the closet.

He’ll file away protruding tusks,
or treat a nasty abscess.
There’s really nothing he can’t do,
so why not acquiesce?

And when your teeth are bright as pearls,
you get to kiss those pretty girls.
