there is no o
in circle but
there is an o
in round. oil, coin

hoop, and halo
give o some sound.
the line of o
goes nowhere but

does orbit in
a solo sphere.
yet how it moves
in soul of o

to bring one back
to here. oh my.
oh! in song is
oversupply.

There are 2,355 words in English that begin with the circle of a letter that can be used by a Scrabble player. There are many more — a universe of “o words” is living in your dictionary — and they hide all around you like little eggs, each filled with its own unique sound. “Oh!ology” makes a study of these words…and teaches that it is a wild ride from od to overfamiliarity (especially when you pass “obnoxious,” ‘orange,” and “outtrump”).
