Beyond the mists
of fixation
poets offer
observation.

They generate
first lines of text
for intersect
of intellects.

Words in power
— floors to ceilings —
— grains to flour —
Allow healings.

In leisure time
toss what’s nervous
and meet poets
at your service.

NOTE: Some poets are exceptional at serving us new ways of seeing, thinking, feeling, believing, and enjoying life. This morning, Kate Gray’s prompt to the 60+ people who called in on her telephone at 9 am PST (503–300–2534) were treated to a relaxing/energizing meditation, the prompt “reaching out,” 20 minutes of time to write, and a reading of the poem, “Redefining Touch,” by Holly Hughes. This poem is my thank you note to Kate, a poet in service to other writers and poets and creatives. (This call is a free service and it is a thing of beauty.)
