Sacrifice Another Lamb

Millions, if not billions, of animal sacrifices

Mary had a little lamb,
but Mary broke a rule
Mary had to sacrifice her lamb,
to be let back in school

Some of the faith, offer up a beast,
seeking sacred favor
But I can’t help but wonder What God
would seek this flavor?

On planet Earth we sacrifice,
we do it all the time
Some people taste the lamb of God
and even drink his wine

We sacrifice many babies
over millennia
it’s not collective madness
or mass dementia

Most are done with that, though,
we still burn offerings
Today, we burn the whole world
to make more cough — er — ing

We burn wood, and oil, and gas
And make creation extra crispy

God is sort of pissed, I guess.
I mean, who wouldn’t be?
