Hairless primates adorned in nude skin
prowl gardens for fruit in fresh abundance,
which exceeding their grasp evokes chagrin,
at foiled efforts to horde whole sustenance.
Evolved humans must cache their creature needs,
some means to contain much valued effects,
as no fleshy pouch nor skin seam proceeds
wherein to guard and store amassed objects.
Avarice is fashioned in plain attire,
a sewn stash, worn upon the trouser hip,
this slim orifice for surplus desires,
leaves hands and fingers free for more to grip.
Collected goods kept close appease the soul,
unless the bursting pocket gets a hole.
