Today we’re thrilled to welcome our first full-time employee to No Divide.

In November 2014 Ryan and I set out on our new venture, we were nervous, excited and unsure exactly how things would go.

But first, what have we been up to?

The first 4 months.

We started 2015 year with a couple of great site launches, Five Simple Steps and Herself (warning NSFW) which got us excited for the months ahead.

We’ve also been working on iterating Motion Array, which is now fully responsive and is growing into a fantastic platform for premium After Effects and Stock Video templates.

I spoke at my first event for 2015, the awesome MK Geek Night — which was a fantastic experience and I’m already looking forward to the next few speaking gigs.

We’re also working on the re-design of Boardshop, the UK’s biggest online surfboard and wetsuit retailer. Which will be launching in June.

Alongside this, Ryan is building a new social application for photographers to connect across the globe and I am working on a new site for a lovely Charity — sorry but this work is currently under NDA till launch. But we can’t wait to show you.

I’m really pleased to see No Divide working for us, we had a really hard 2014 and this is just the motivation we both needed.

Where we are today

One thing that became apparent very quickly is that taking on all this work ourselves just wasn’t going to do us any good. Time doesn’t scale.

We had a choice, either turn the work down and stay as we are or take the plunge and make the (scary) decision to hire our first employee. As you can probably gather, we opted for the latter!

Introducing Matt

Matt joins us after a successful freelance career but is looking for a new, exciting role and we are incredibly impressed by him.

Matt wrote the book HTML 5 Foundations for Treehouse, and was previously the co-founder and developer at Your Big Pitch. He’s also written for several blogs and is an active contributor to Treehouse.

Alongside all of this, he’s an incredibly talented developer and we look forward to working with him on bringing our projects to life!

Welcome to the team, Matt!

We’ve updated our team page, which you can take a look at here and you can follow Matt on Twitter @MattAntWest
