The Best Spring Jacket — The Bomber
Let’s talk about my favorite jacket, and why you should definitely try one out this spring.
You need that perfect jacket before going out on that perfectly cool spring day or night. What do you wear? That ratty pullover quarter zip you’ve had from college? That jacket that’ll make you a little too warm? A vest that makes you look like you’re still a frat boy in college? No sir, grab yourself a bomber jacket and you’re good to go with a sophisticated piece of style.
What can you wear it with? Literally any button-down, polo or t-shirt. As long as the colors aren’t too crazy you won’t look bad.
The bomber jacket has some roots with the U.S. military, but it’s evolution actually came from the punk scene and influences from the Japanese when they saw and collected them during WWII.
Enough of the history lesson, I know I’m being pretty biased since it’s my favorite jacket, but let’s look at some of the best ones to get this spring.

What makes a jacket perfect for Spring is the weight of it. All of these jackets have a weight to them that keeps you warm when it’s in the 40–50’s temperature range but won’t overheat you when it gets to the 60’s or higher. If you get one that’s basically a down jacket, then you’ll only be buying a jacket that won’t see the light of day until next winter.
A highlight of the jacket that I love is the subtle collar that doesn’t stand too tall. It never get’s in the way and looks great with whatever collar you have on the layer underneath. It’s also a jacket that you can go conservative or pretty wild with the style, making it work for a wide age-range.
