Labor Day already feels like it was a month ago, but it’s the ceremonial end of summer. It’s time to put away the board shorts and get ready for fall. That means sweaters, flannels, light wash jeans, and boots season. We technically have until September 22nd and I’m pretty sure I saw that it may hit 85 degrees this weekend, but that’s beside the point.

It’s fall in my book, so get ready for layering and as one of my favorite postgradproblem.com writers puts it, “it’s oatmeal season.” Oatmeal season refers to the amazing color palette in clothes that sits nuzzled up somewhere perfectly between light khaki and soft brown. It’s like the color of that perfect yellow lab you saw when walking to get coffee the other day and made you think, “maybe I should get a dog?” I also like to think it’s about total comfort. Think sweaters, joggers, or that perfect waffle knit T-shirt.

Let’s look through some of the best items that will get you ready for oatmeal season. (Not everything is exactly oatmeal, but it all falls under the similar tone).

Heritage Cotton-Yak Wool Crew-Neck T-Shirt
Heritage Alpaca-Blend Ribbed Mock-Neck Sweater
Merino-Cotton Henley Sweater
Knockdown Club Collar Golf Sweater
Military Shirt Jacket
Engineer’s Coat
Synchilla® Snap-T® Fleece Pullover
Long Sleeve Scallop T-Shirt
4505 super skinny training joggers with zip cuff

See what I mean? It’s the perfect blend of soft on the eyes and soft on the comfort. Look into it and you’ll see more brands coming out with this color during the fall.

Also… Big news! We’re officially on twitter. Give the page a follow. I promise to keep it interesting.
