Imagine 100 deviants slithering through your door showing your kids violent, sexualised, harmful content and preaching insane ideas to them — every single day.
The internet has damaged the mental stability, personal relationships, resilience, and well being of large chunks of a whole generation, and compromised the learning and critical thinking skills of most young Western people to some extent.
We all fell for the comforting notion that each older generation believes the worst of the youth of today; that this was just more of the same. After all, the ancient Greeks were saying similar things about the youth of their time.
But we were wrong.
We grew up in a time before the internet. We know the difference between the online world and the echo chamber, false consensus fallacy, deep rooted misogyny and vile hatred online and the real world. For our children, this is all they have ever known.
