The first time I came across the name “Annabelle”....I did not know of the haunted doll.

I imagined a cute little porcelain doll with button shoes and polite manners. She lives quietly in a dollhouse with her family.

In case you aren’t aware of it, I am talking about the “Annabelle”— from The Doll People is the series of books , by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin.

It was everything that a child wants a doll to be. She had a kind heart..a curious mind and a secret life that is full of adventures.

She is not scary at all. She rather made me believe that my own dolls might be alive too ( not in a creepy way).

Then I came across the other “Annabelle”. She is the haunted one....with a cracked face and glassy stare...who changed my idea of dolls forever...

This Annabelle was not cute or kind— she was extremely horrifying.

In fact, the horror movie "Annabelle" was actually based on real life accounts from paranormal investigators- Ed and Lorraine Warren.
