Who would’ve thought that Richmond Hill, Ontario, would birth one of the best punk bands of the past couple of decades, but in 2002 all the stars aligned, and The Flatliners were formed to help reignite a genre that was seeing less and less new artists developing.

The Flatliners consist of singer/guitarist Chris Cresswell, guitarist Scott Brigham, bassist Jon Darbey, and drummer Paul Ramirez. Through their 20-year journey, they’ve managed to maintain this same lineup, but the band’s sound has morphed and grown from album to album.

When the band began, they were a straight-up ska-punk band similar to The Suicide Machines, but these days their music tends to emphasize more of the rock elements of punk rock, and you’ll be hard pressed to find a single guitar upstroke in a newer song.

Regardless of what era of The Flatliners you appreciate, one thing has remained constant — the band gives their absolute all on every album.
