NODR Overview 2018
As 2018 comes to the end, we at NODR are happy to revise what has been done and what was significant for our team this year.
Firstly, we have made a great rebranding, previously Teleport Plus, we welcome 2019 as NODR, a Swiss-based blockchain-powered decentralized CDN project ready to introduce the technology to meet the demand of the Internet broadcasters via users'smart devices storage and decentralized p2p delivery system. We made the decision to separate two projects, an existing Teleport Media WebRTC live streaming solution, and its blockchain-driven version, now called as NODR, to develop it the special way.
Secondly, in November 2018 we have partnered with SONM, decentralized computing platform. This partnership aimed to power our CDN project with computing resources available on SONM platform. Now, when the first aim — to unite two different solutions into one — was successfully achieved both companies are intended to develop the cooperation. Our next step will be to modify the technical solution so that it performs efficiently within the SONM network and to run a series of experiments to find a sustainable pricing model for the services. When successful, NODR becomes a regular customer on the SONM marketplace.
Thirdly, Teleport Global AG, our Zug-based headquarters, has closed a financing round with Blockchain Valley Ventures (BVV), a Swiss-based accelerator and venture firm incubating, developing and investing in blockchain-enabled businesses. This means, our partners really believe in our team and the idea that anyone on the globe could become the edge node of a CDN and get a reward. The solution will not require special equipment or skills and will be run on regular endpoints like PCs, smartphones, set-top-boxes or internet routers and consume the bandwidth not being used at the moment by the device owner. Also, NODR is going to introduce its own cryptocurrency that will circulate in an ecosystem based on device-to-device traffic exchange. And all of it is going to happen in 2019!
