NODR app has won the 1st place at Tendermint hackathon in Paris

Happy to announce that Teleport team has taken the 1st place at Tendermint / Cosmos hackathon in Paris last weekend which was a premise of Paris blockchain week presenting NODR app, blockchain-driven version of Teleport solution.

“European blockchain community sees great potential in NODR app, and so we at Teleport will continue to perfect it.” Read what Andrey Klimenko, Teleport & NODR CEO, said about the Paris Hackathon winner.

Teleport is developing solutions for delivering content, primarily using peer networks. One of the essential questions in this business is how to account for the relations that occur between peers. The question becomes more challenging when you consider that all interactions between peers happen in real time and at a very high rate. We are talking about millions of transactions per second.

Decentralized ledger technology (DLT) showed the most promise, so we’ve been investigating it for more than a year. Even though DLT has the most significant potential for your technology, it is still limited in throughput. That is one of the reasons we’ve started investigating application specific blockchain (ASB). It has the benefit over traditional DLT in speed and independence from a single main chain.

So we’ve discovered Tendermint and realized that this is something we could use.

As soon as we discovered that a Hackathon dedicated to Cosmos, an SDK that allows rapid development of DLT-based applications, will be held, we decided to participate to use the SDK by writing a real application.

During the Hackathon, we worked on integrating our technology with Tendermint. A team of people both in Paris and working remotely has successfully integrated our existing application with Tendermint. Our team competed against 9 other international teams. We’ve presented our work to the committee and… basically, we won.

We see great potential in using Tendermint to produce a technology that will allow our applications to have more features and be more secure.

PS. Did everything go according to plan? Of course not! Read about all the challenges we faced and how we hacked them in our next article.

NODR app is promoted in several ways.

First, it is the software that allows anyone to share their devices’ idle bandwidth and get paid fast and secure. You can add it as a script to a web page, run it standalone on your device or connect a cluster of servers. All devices running NODR software become part of the network.

Thus, NODR is a network of connected devices that actually run NODR software. We use advanced cryptographic algorithms to ensure the integrity of data transfers and secure communication between peers. Peer-to-peer connectivity allows us to transmit data directly from one device to another. To make it all work, we’ve built it on top of a fault-tolerant distributed ledger technology. It’s safe, fast and extremely useful.

Also, NODR is the community of people who want to make the most of their devices, use the network to reduce costs of their business and all who see the future in the decentralized web.
