THE NJNP COLLECTIVE HAS A NEW HOME!

After a long summer of searching and raising costs for a new home, we are so so so pleased to say we have a new home! Thank you to everyone who helped us get here!

Since last year the NJNP Collective has been home to several NJNP affiliated organizers as well as several Black and Brown Trans community members. For the past few months several NJNP organizers and other Black & Brown Trans community members living in the NJNP House have been living in dread over a September 1st eviction date. This comes after months of complaining about police intimidation to City Council members and the ANC.

With the passage of FOSTA/SESTA last winter, the need for that housing increased as vital income sources — web pages such as Backpage and Craigslist personal ads that were targeted as the result of FOSTA — disappeared. Since then, the NJNP collective has became sanctuary to several trans current and former sex workers struggling in the wake of Federal attacks such as FOSTA/SESTA, as well as a local city government that is content on pushing those most on the margins in DC’s Trans community further and further away from resources.

After a long summer of searching and raising costs for a new home, we are so so so pleased to say we have a new home! Thank you to everyone who helped us get here!

Please keep up the support by sharing and contributing to our housing fundraiser.
