Good news for start-ups and Digital Nomads in the technology field.

Although at a very early stage, it’s safe to announce that Thailand is stepping into the right directions for the technology and IT sector and mindful about the digital nomads entering the country under “tourist” visas.

Minister Kobsak Pootrakool (From the GSM recap)

During the last Global Startup Workshop organized by MIT GSW, the MIT Association of Thailand and Sasin, Minister Kobsak Pootrakool announced new initiatives to attract (or keep) startups in Thailand.

A new “Start-up Camp Visa” for technology and I.T startups

This new initiative will benefit areas such as Chiang Mai and Bangkok and the Eastern Economic Corridor and aim to offer competitive tax advantages to keep and attract start-ups in Thailand.

No detils regarding digital nomads

Aware of the digital nomad reality, no additional comments on the details of the program were announced by the Minister. But we surely can assume that in addition to the “Elite Visa” announced last year, Thailand is ready to react to the global “remote” movement and nurture it’s tech ecosystem.

We will sure keep an eye open for you with great interest on nomadvisa.com
