Democratic Party progressives: Here is the lesson you should learn from Trump’s election, despite Harris spending double what Trump spent. Stop trying to control people using government, which is at its core a system of mass coercion. After all, the core definition of government is any organization with a monopoly on legitimate violence.

And it has been the core of the progressive Democratic Party agenda: to use this monopoly on violence to force everyone, including dissenters, to obey progressives’ self-perceived good ideas.

If you Democratic Party progressives were to switch instead to using only voluntary (i.e., non-governmental) organizations to work to solve society’s problems, not only would you win the ideological support of libertarians such as myself, but your increased success would earn you the allegiance of many millions more voters.

If you Democratic Party progressives were to stop using lawsuits (which are enforced by the government) to coerce people you disagree with into obeying your commands, you would not provoke society’s revulsion at this totalitarian behavior.

Literally, it is totalitarian. You want to enforce your social issues in all facets of life, using the power of government to force your will on everyone…

Too many supposed peacemakers hide their reliance on the violence of police enforcement even from themselves. Violence is physical, not verbal. Humanity has a duty to envision new ways to prevent violence (government or not) & solve other problems voluntarily without coercion.
