This is the third time that I have read this book and it definitely won’t be the last.

As the subtitle suggest, Lencioni takes the reader on a journey through a very relatable story of a typical leadership team with all its dysfunction.

Kathrine, the focus of the story works through many challenges with her team, most of which will be very familiar to anyone that works in a team dynamic in business, which is to say the vast majority of us.

Lencioni uses her character masterfully to help us to understand and unpack some complex and deep team dynamics and to then begin to find constructive ways through said challenges. There is little sugar coating and we are constantly reminded that we need to act for the greater good of the team and not for ourselves — something that is all too often and easily forgotten.

The teachings are genius in their simplicity and really do get right to core of how to build and nurture a healthy team amidst the ever challenging world of business and life.

We are also given a very practical guide at the end of the book which has already become a very valuable and commonly used tool kit taught by coaches and facilitators around the world.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anybody that works in a team environment.
