Wow, we got a lot of stuff in this month, a lot to unpack but without a doubt there's something for everyone. Meditative industrial dub infusion from Robin Stewart out on No Corner, London nu-jazz type stuff from Contours & Yadava, a couple of charity V/A’s and much much more, dig in!

Korzi — Footslog EP

Resident: Eatmybeat & Left, Right, Centre
Label: Eatmybeat

Marriage of two residents here with eatmybeat releasing Manchester’s Left, Right & Centre bossman under the name Korzi.

Five huge warehouse stompers. Bass driven techno with an electro inflection, crystal clear production with EBM twinged synth lines, these are not to be taken lightly; may cause damage on the dance-floor.

Various — New Horizons, A Bristol ‘Jazz’ Sound

Resident: Worm Disco Club
Label: Worm Discs

Bristol’s connoisseur of all things jazz Worm Disco Club with their first physical release, a double heavy weight LP on the format we all love to listen to our jazz on.

Has to be said the boys have seriously outdone themselves here supporting all the local lot. The result is timeless, soulful, breaks ridden, groovy jazz, all with that bristol twinge.

It’s rightfully sold out on vinyl (as well as the restock) but go get the digi regardless, it’ll complement the steam coming off your tea on a bright and misty autumn start.

Haze City— Excursions 4 EP

Resident: Haze City
Label: Casse Records

Following their contribution to the Forever — Ten Years comp in August, Haze City is back with their fourth instalment of the ‘Excursions’ series on their own imprint Casse Records.

His usual stripped back broken beat rhythms are present here utilising the drum machines we love as well as his own soulful tip in the form of profuse synth noodlings.

INRA — I Super Liked You By Mistake

Resident: Arcane Patterns
Label: Self-Released

A slew of instruments recorded pre-pandemic from the Berlin duo.

Harmonicas, percussion instruments, drum computers, hyper-real just intonation guitar drones, impending breakbeats, sardonic poetry, all held up with visceral bass.

The dialectic drone dub duo are here with some lovely pieces to grow old to.

Dreams_E — Dreams On 22

Resident: The Burrell Connection
Label: The Burrell Connection

Beautiful grounded ambient tracks from Glasgow based Dreams_E.

Warm textures like a pat on the back from a father figure. Fast paced rhythms side by side with sombre chordal stabs fit for deep rumination. The sound palette on these is reminiscent of, dare I say it… the first selected ambient works?

Its great go buy it.

Contours & Yadava — Cosmic Echoes

Resident: Dad’s Ravioli
Label: ANMA Records London

Following a number of jam sessions, Cosmic Echoes was created as the child of Contours & Yadava.

Featuring that London sound we’ve all come to love by now, however infused with a bit more of a house twinge and fleshed out with robust synth work. These tracks are great for relaxing on a chilly Sunday or dancing around the living room with a maximum of five others..

Olivia Mutant John And Wrong Travolta — Let’s Get Lhysicap

Resident: Avon Terror Corps
Label: Avon Terror Corps

Aptly described as ‘a love letter to rave’ this collection of tracks might blow your tiny mind a bit.

From plague-ridden marching music fit to traverse a swamp into battle, to fast introspective hardcore with those high pitched vocals that make you want to cover yourself in glitter and stare into a mirror for hours.

ATC never cease to surprise and impress us at Noods HQ, open your ears to this one.

Glass — crY

Resident: OOH-Sounds
Label: OOH-Sounds

Glass here with an six track EP for long time residents OOH-Sounds.

Made in response to the monotony of fast pervasive media these pieces are nothing if not unpredictable.

Impressive sound design, seamless poly-metrics, incredible production value, Max MSP abuse. What more could you ask for? This computer music fused with abstracted mutant dance sounds is brilliant.

Balay, Sydney & Sam Bhok — STAYPUT001

Resident: Stay Put
Label: Stay Put

Three track EP out as Stay Put’s debut, one by each of the Stay Put boys. Each with their own production flare, these tracks all stand out in their own right.

From tastefully fervent breaks to rhodes driven house to groovy syncopated pan flute music, these are well worth getting down to.

Nathan Kofi — Drie Punt Tree

Resident: Nonverbal Cues w/ Nathan Kofi
Label: De Lichting

Nathan Kofi’s contribution to this De Lichting comp here.

Full of abundant pads contrasted with that sort of cold Gerald Donald esque keyboard-tracking type synth work gives the listener a lot to focus on, but not in an overwhelming way, more collected and precise.

If you’re into 808’s utilised as they should be and wistful electro, this is for you.

Teya Logos, Lvers — Conjoined 2

Resident: The Peoples Avant-Garde
Label: New Work City

The People’s Avant-Garde delivering a two track digi.

The first of the two, a churning trap ridden warehouse ready crusher. Heavy distorted 808’s soaked in ungodly amounts of reverb, this track is huge.

The Lvers one is also a force to be reckoned with, a bassline that doesn’t quit and vocals given the sandpaper treatment. This one will get your heart pumping.

K.I.I.A — Killing Time

Resident: Cue
Label: Portable Storage Unit

Its fair to say its been a long time coming for K.I.I.A’s debut, and here it is in all its glory.

Its clear she has honed in on her production prowess with this number, slow chugging drum machines, organic sounding (kind of) synth lines and a vowel formant lead? It’s original, emotive and definitely groovy.

Coming via USB flashdrive and complemented with kingskins and stickers, go and buy this one. The rest of the V/A is great too so..

Contact Specialist— Tableau

Resident: Muzak Concrete
Label: Muzak Concrete

Four renderings laden with gentle and romantic ambient musings interspersed with unadulterated rhythms, you can actually hear the drum machines at work.

Teetering between tear-jerking and uplifting this EP pushes and pulls you as it likes, and you have to go with it.

Tracks to stare back at earth to.

Robin Stewart — Marsupial

Resident: Long Delays
Label: No Corner

Half of techno tour-de-force Giant Swan as well as avant-noise duo SRS, Robin proves once again what comes out when he’s left to his own devices. The result this time is a mastery in sparsity, restraint, dub/industrial fusion and of course enough verb and delay to saturate the Sydney Opera House.

Out on No Corner, go get it for a display of texture expertise and subtle groove making.

V/A — Endorphins

Resident: Edited Arts
Label: Edited Arts

Edited Arts first in a series of compilations put out to raise money for charity, profits of which this time will go towards Black Minds Matter and Drake Music.

Twelve tracks ranging from core rattling breaks, heavy alt-club and squashed technoise to spooky avant ambient and computer driven rhythm dance.

Enough listening to cover the best part of an hour, fill your boots!

Tesla Tapes — Endorphins

Resident: Them There
Label: Tesla Tapes

Friends of the station and Gnod releasing Them There boss man Carl Brown.

A twenty minute tape taking you on a trip through mashed up field recordings, rich ambient textures, familiar instrument sounds, peculiar noise musings and even some post-punky bits.

Great listen for fans of Dome, Godspeed or Obscure Records.

Ruadh — Counterculture Analogue

Resident: In Fine Style
Label: Self-Released

Written following a big night in 2009, this track from Ruadh comes with heavy rolling bass to rattle your cage, cold and glittery synth lines and a good dose of the old distortion we love so much.

Interesting rhythms to send you into a trance and forget you might exist to.

Andy Mac & Jay L — Planet Spanner

Resident: Jay L & Andy Mac
Label: Deep Street

Bristol big dogs Andy Mac and Jay L with a four track EP. First side is a combined effort resulting in an introspective house trip laced with a delicious acid line.

The flip features both their unique flavours stretched out on individual workouts. Andy’s, a really groovy number with a pad line and hats that make it hard not to shake your hips. Jay L’s, a slightly deeper cut with crunchy breaks and low down chords. Both serious groovers suitable in the club or to spice up your pasta bake.

Eminent Agency VA for Black Lives Matter

Resident: Eminent
Label: Eminent

V/A from Eminent Agency with all proceeds going to Black Lives Matter.

Six thumping club ready tracks from a smorgasbord of great producers. Pounding kick drums, squealing acid and a healthy amount of reverb to fill the virtual-club out to.

GOAT LIFE! — DJ Oa$is

Resident: Ossia
Label: FuckPunk

Big one from Bristol bossman Ossia here with cheeky 7" on his imprint FuckPunk.

Dub inundated industrial heater with the sounds of yep, a goat. Its really nice to see what’s usually taken very seriously (our beloved industrial music) not taken so seriously.

Its fun, it hits hard and rumours are the track on the flip is even more whacked out. Its £2.99 for the record wtf go and get it!

CXCXCX — Breathing Relic

Resident: Tutamen
Label: Tutamen

Another great one from Tutamen, this time from Denver based CXCXCX.

Faithful industrial given a very nice modern tweak. If you like drum machines pushed beyond coherence, short delay times and powerful rhythm tracks, this one is for you.

Reminiscent of people like Container, Nick Klein and all that new industrial stuff coming out.
