Grammy award winning singer/songwriter, producer, guitarist and all around dreamboat — John Mayer back at it again with Wave Two of his seventh studio album, “In Search of Everything”

It’s always great hearing from John Mayer. His catchy hooks, tasty guitar licks and rhythmic crooning can make a whole crowd dampen their dandies. In my younger years, I worked in a little mom and pop retail store named JC Penney. A few middle aged women that worked there would always pinch my cheek and say I looked like John Mayer (It was probably the hair). Great compliment regardless.

Recently, John Mayer has come into his own by switching up his style once again. His past couple of albums included a lot of the folk genre mixed in with some pop. These past couple of waves have had some really groovy songs as well. “Still Feel Like Your Man,” and “Helpless” were the standouts of wave two for me. A really good artist is genre bending and never sticks to one area of expertise. It’s refreshing to see John Mayer switch it up in such a way. Kudos to my doppelgänger (only one of us can survive…)

Here’s hoping John Mayer continues to excel in his craft.

I’ll give “In Search of Everything” Wave Two an 8/10
