When we started the redesign the Nordic Startup School, our goal was to create a structure for startups and mentors to collaborate more efficiently.

Last Bootcamp feedback was rated 9.8/10. Still, we aim to push beyond that!

Now we introduce you the NSS version 2.5 - the future of accelerators! This is what we aim to bring to you, together with our team, Framlabs, and our awesome mentors.

1. Nordic Startup Preschool tour in Nordics

As we see that there are only opportunities for startups in big cities to join normal acceleration programs, we want to make it different by doing a Preschool roadshow in Finland early in September so that even smaller cities get a taste of NSS.

We will have 4–5 workshops in Finland and a few sessions online for international audiences.

We are also doing a Preschool in collaboration with Ambitious Africa to help African startups learn about NSS methods.

There will be an even more extensive Preschool tour next January to help out startups and entrepreneurs wherever they are and offer world-class learning opportunities for them.

2. Building the international bridges - NSS landing in Europe!

Since COVID has affected travelling, our originally planned trip to the United States is no longer feasible. However, we came up with another plan: 4–5x week trips around Europe during the autumn.

We want to expand our network, meet great startups, and get more international mentors to join NSS. All while helping our NSS startups get their first steps to the international market.

Our goal is to bring value to the local startups with our current mentors. By giving something for the local ecosystem, we hope to attract more local mentors that can help our startups as well.

With Nordic Startup Ventures we’ll create a sustainable model for collaboration between startup ecosystems.

3. Nordic Startup School — startup diagnostics

We are building a toolkit together with our partners to have a better understanding of startups and their founders.

Startup diagnostics will enable us to work with startups better, and really push forward our mentoring, education, and everything on the next level.

4. Educating and nourishing the Mentors

NSS plans to do a Mentor education track for this autumn.

Our plan is to make mentoring better not only in NSS but also in Finland as a whole. Investing in our mentors improves their skills and our cohorts.

Mentor workshops and lectures will be free for all NSS mentors. We already have a great pool of awesome mentors, but hope to expand from 100+ mentors to 200+ mentors this year.

Being an NSS mentor is a great learning and networking opportunity!

5. Startup mentor Awards!

We know that Startups are getting a lot of coverage online, none of it can happen without the great people who are there to support the startups.

We are doing a Startup mentor 2020 competition where startups can tell us about great mentors experiences they have had.

We hope to encourage more people to become startup mentors since startups need not only fiscal resources, but also specialised skills and guidance to help them on their journeys.Hopefully, we can make this an annual event!

6. Nordic Startup School internship program

Wanting students to get students excited about startups, we have designed — and are about to implement — an NSS internship program.

During the 3 — month program, students will learn from our mentors and from us, while simultaneously working closely with our startups.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to have world-class experience and learn from the best!
