RØNNINGEN FOLKEHØGSKOLE BUILDS NEW 2015-2017
We had the chance to renew the school buildings and our main goals are:
All buildings must signal that they are built for use by young people. Emphasis has been placed on the use of colours, lights and interior to make this attractive.
The garden is dug down 14m with artificial turf for football on the roof. Artificial turf without any granules of any kind. After what we get informed, this is the first one delivered in Norway. In the upper part of the hall we have utilized the roof constriction and have more classrooms, exercise rooms, dance rooms, wardrobes, etc.
We have drilled 16 holes 240 meters down the mountain to utilize the geothermal heat.
This provides water-borne heat to all 100 guest rooms and to all the hot water in the showers / bathrooms as well as the heating of the artificial turf course. In addition, we have energy management from EM systems that allow us to electronically control energy consumption down to the smallest detail. All light sources are led light.
All material choices have stringent requirements for sustainability and recovery requirements in Tech 10, and have approximately energy consumption as in passive houses.
In the spring of 2017 we finished the buildings and the whole area.
There are also seating areas attached to the barbecue area and other social activities.
Last but not least, we will develop an organic area for the cultivation of herbs, berries etc. This will be used in the teaching and the students will be responsible for planting, harvesting and for the cooking of food based on what is grown.
We get many good feedback on the works done by now.
The school is owned by KFUK / FFUM in Norway.
