Nori partners with Orange Comet to remove carbon emissions from Seattle Kraken NFT drop
Our team at Nori is thrilled to be partnering with Orange Comet, an NFT production studio, to remove the carbon emissions from their blockchain projects. As a Seattle-based company, we couldn’t be more excited to announce that our first collaboration with Orange Comet involves removing carbon emissions for the Seattle Kraken’s first NFT drop.
Orange Comet is a leading entertainment NFT technology and content studio specializing in producing dynamic NFT and blockchain experiences for some of the most valuable and creative IP assets in the world, and utilizes the eco-friendly Avalanche blockchain, which strives for a net-zero impact. Nori is committed to helping Orange Comet maintain its reputation as one of the most environmentally conscious NFT studios.
Carbon removal is the only way to undo emissions in our atmosphere — and to reverse climate change, we need to remove much more carbon than we emit. Nori provides transparent and verifiable carbon removal credits to individuals and businesses who want to reverse the emissions they create. The Nori Carbon Removal Tonnes (NRTs) that we sell are recorded on the blockchain to protect against double-counting issues and are easy to pair with NFTs to make them carbon negative.
As we mentioned earlier, we’re especially fond of the Seattle Kraken. Some of our employees grew up playing hockey and are really excited Seattle finally has an NHL team! The Kraken NFTs offer fans the opportunity to own a digital piece of hockey history while representing net-negative carbon emissions through Orange Comet’s partnership with Nori.
As a company, we want to continue being a part of our city’s growing commitment to climate change solutions and believe that no challenge is insurmountable. In 1980, the U.S. men’s hockey team did the unthinkable and defeated the unbeaten professional Soviet hockey team. Despite the overwhelming odds, the U.S. team persevered.
The climate challenge is not dissimilar. Rather than giving into despair, Nori is a forward thinking, climate solutions company. Our partnership with Orange Comet is one of many steps that we are taking to bring climate solutions to a growing array of customers and communities. It is only by emitting less and removing the rest that we can eventually achieve our collective dream of a greener future.

Nori is on a mission to reverse climate change by making it as easy as possible for anyone in the world to pay for and get paid for removing carbon emissions from the atmosphere. Currently, Nori sources carbon removal by working with regenerative farmers who sequester carbon from the atmosphere and store it in their soils.
