As I have mentioned in the past Netflix has (amazingly to me) de-prioritized uptime in favor of speed and also become their own CDN as part of their speedy-experience prioritization.
Their recent deceleration in subscribers has made high profile news recently, especially as Netflix actually lost subscribers in North America for only the second time in it’s 24 year history, but it still has over 200 million paying subscribers.
