Notes from March 5, 2017 Meeting

• Quilters’ Connection Guild is hosting Thomas Knauer March 13 at 6:30 Bentley University $10. For more info check with guild
• Boston Modern Quilt Guild Annual Quilt Show April 18 -May 7 at the Fabric Place Basement, Natick,MA
• Threads of Resistance Show at New England Quilt Museum, Lowell from July through September-we discussed
taking a field trip in the summer when we don’t meet or going as our first meeting in September (but would have to be Saturday as they aren’t open on Sunday) be discussed further and decided at April/May meeting
• Put a calendar on our website-Jeff will help with this
• Because our next scheduled meeting conflicts with Hands Across the Valley Quilt Show we will be meeting April 9
• Retreat in Chester Vermont is Thursday May 18. Rooms are still available. Contact Jeff
for more info. For those going, don’t forget to call the Inn with your credit card info
• Common Table, a restaurant in Chester MA to show/sell our quilts in September. Currently, the restaurant has Hilltown Artists Guild items on display and for sale. “FOOD” was discussed as a theme for creating quilts for this show, and this idea was met with a lot of enthusiasm. Timna suggested a book to check out “Women of Taste: A Collaboration Celebrating Quilt Artists and Chefs”

April- Caro will show us how to Photograph Your Quilts-I spoke with her and with her schedule, she cannot commit
June- Jeff will teach New York Beauty

• Looking at various people to give classes/ trunk shows-get names to Robin, Diane is researching Amy Friend, Michelle is researching Jessica Skulteddy, etc. Lee suggested using a form which will be posted on the website with potential speaker info.
