National Semifinals — Saturday:
#1 Muskegon Risers v #4 Crossfire Redmond

If you didn’t know the seeding, then you could have been forgiven for thinking that Redmond were the #1 seed. This team rose from the 35th place in the overall league table to knock out International Portland Select, FC Arizona, and El Farolito (on penalties) before travelling 2000 miles East to face Muskegon on the Risers’ home field.

Crossfire played the Risers off the pitch and advance to face a final road trip for a chance at the National Championship. The visitors goals came from Christian Soto in the 24th minute (blasting one into the net), Omar Grey in the 35th minute and River Stewart in the 77th minute.

That marks the end of the season for Northern Lights Football. Thank you for reading. We’ll be back for the new season in May. In the meantime, check out our sister site Empower Women’s Football, where we will be covering a number of women’s football around the world (including the final of Euro 2022 tomorrow).
