New VR esports mini documentary follows CLG’s League team

If you’ve ever wanted to ride along with a top League of Legends team while they’re competing at an international tournament, a new virtual reality mini documentary released today comes very close.

The five-and-a-half minute feature, shot and produced by VR production company Jaunt in partnership with ESL, follows Counter Logic Gaming’s League team during their training, travel, and games at IEM Katowice in March.

A VR headset is not compulsory to watch the video, with the 360-degree click and drag feature giving viewers a similar experience. Sit with the team in their training room, eat dinner with them, ride on the bus with them, hang out with them in their hotel rooms, and stand right in front of them while they compete.

The video, which is titled CLG: Win Everythin’, sees Counter Logic compete against world champions SK Telecom T1 at the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland, a second round group stage match they lost.

“I thought we had a really good shot of doing well,” says Counter Logic top laner Darshan Upadhyaya in a voiceover. “The problem was everything kind of fell apart at the tournament in terms of us having an understanding and read on the game.”

CLG: Win Everythin’ is apparently part of a series, which will focus mostly on the IEM tournaments, according to Mashable. No additional details about the upcoming mini documentaries have been released.
