Our generation is developing an obsession with capturing moments and uploading them onto Instagram, something which Psychologist Professor Daniel Kahneman describes to be as “experiencing the present as an anticipated memory.” How one’s life looks like is determined by how beautiful or stylised one’s Instagram feed looks, as well as the number of followers and likes garnered. This is a social phenomenon we would like to delve deeper into, highlighting the damaging effects it has on our view of perfection and self worth. We want to persuade Instagrammers to look beyond the box, by highlighting issues of:

  1. Self worth — not determined by your photos.
  2. Living in the present — as compared to focusing on the anticipated memory.
