This year in South Florida alone, roughly 2,000 children will be rescued from environments of abuse, abandonment or neglect. No child deserves to grow up without a loving home.
For children removed from their families, the transitional period from family to foster care is the most critical for a child’s well-being.
Instead of sitting in a child services office — or spending the night at the police station— programs like SafePlace provide children with immediate care in a secure and loving home environment.
The Partner
4Kids of South Florida is a non-profit providing secure access to transitionary safe houses, loving foster care services, and an Independent living program to support children who have aged out of the foster care system. They work to provide “A home for every child” and ensure that children receive the immediate support & care they need in the critical hours after first being removed from their homes.
The Project
SafePlace (a 4KIDS Program), is a safe and loving transitional home providing hope and compassion to kids who are just entering foster care.
At SafePlace, thousands of children removed from their families receive professional care, guidance, shelter, encouragement, hot meals, clean clothing, a comfy bed and any amenity needed to ensure they can trust, hope and laugh again.
One of the only programs of its kind in the state of Florida, SafePlace welcomes children newborn to 17 years of age, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
