I thought I knew you

I thought I knew you but,
I didn’t, not without me.
Everytime I looked at you,
I was standing in the way.
My eyes, blurry by projections,
Saw in you my reflections.
I listened to you but heard me.
Helping you was helping me,
Loving you was loving me.

Even when you walked away,
Stained with me all over,
My goodbye was never meant for you.
