Upside down

Is it okay to write upside down?
You wouldn’t know with one page in hand.
Accepted by itself, apparently perfect.
Wrong when part of a whole, wasted.

This does not belong here.
And yet, despite discord, the page
remains in its place, in defiance.
Next to all others, upside down.

She fills up her space
She stands alone and strong,
Among all that rightful paper,
Waiting patiently for the book to flip.

And it finally does. Upside down.
For that sliver of time, she breathes,
She stands bright and upright,
And no one can say otherwise.

If only we could see that
In a world that spins around
Up and down don’t exist.
Right goes wrong in circles all the time.
