In the Writer’s Room Where It Happened: ‘Sin Freaks’

I wonder if we actually made something that matters or just set our personal demons loose and called it art.

The final book cover — (nightcafe)

I was there where and when it happened. Jed came right out with the title, Sin Freaks. It rolled off his tongue as if it was meaningless. But the words were everything. Simply perfect.

The room was silent. Then we all turned and looked at him before shifting our gaze to Tim — who spoke first…

“Mate. Mate! You got it. That’s the book in two syllables. You’re almost a genius. Bonus on its way.”

What a moment. I will never forget it. One that changed all our lives really. There we were, a small bunch of creatives, running on caffeine and speed, throwing ideas around just to tear them down again and make them up into something bigger, better.

When Jed threw Sin Freaks into the pot, I think we all knew our project was destined for great things.

Yeah, along the way the process was as messy as a kids' tea party. But we got there.
