What Do “Left” & “Right” Actually Mean?

Now we can see dumbing down and such like is really happening, let's get to the title of this post!

I am well aware that over recent years many people will testify to the fact society — or rather the people who make up society — are being dumbed down.

Yes! You heard it from me. But what does Dumb Down actually mean? I asked Merriam Webster:
