This one is easy—show support for politicians doing the right thing.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform sent a letter to Chairman Jason Chaffetz asking the Committee to “immediately begin conducting a review of President-elect Donald Trump’s financial arrangements to ensure that he does not have any actual or perceived conflicts of interest and that he and his advisors comply with all legal and regulatory ethical requirements when he assumes the presidency.”

The letter is strong. You can call the Oversight Committee to support this bipartisan review—they are apparently tallying the number of calls.

It took me less than 2 minutes to call and leave a message:

Oversight Committee 202–225–5074

Script

Hi, my name is ____. I’m calling to support the Oversight Committee’s call for a bipartisan review of Trump’s financials and apparent conflicts of interest. I request that the Committee demand all of Trump’s financial information. My phone number is ___.

Words of encouragement

This one is entirely straightforward—the Oversight Committee just needs to hear public support for something members are already requesting. Today—Friday, November 18—is the last day to call elected officials before the Thanksgiving holiday. You can do it!

If you haven’t yet called your representatives or called Ryan and McConnell regarding Stephen Bannon’s appointment as Chief Strategist, please consider doing that today as well. You can find a guide for calling your reps here, and a guide for calling the GOP leadership here.

Thanks to Sarah Gailey for posting the Oversight Committee info on Twitter.
