Crypto/Blockchain investments across the globe

Using investment data from Crunchbase, we looked at the spread of crypto/blockchain/Bitcoin investments across the globe. The data is up to September 2021 so we’ll update for more recent insights soon.

But for now, lets’ look at the overall spread of the $104.6bn invested into these areas over the last 10 years.

We can see that North America is 3x the size of its next nearest regional neighbour in Europe. Somehow a South American location for a firm was tagged in the region but like all good datasets, there are always anomalies (as well as UK being tagged as a region but will be fixed in updated editions).

Europe, with it’s $19.1bn is mostly in the Western side

Asia has a big concentration across Japan, Malaysia, South Korea
