How to Get Startup Ideas — Paul Graham
> Idea should solve your own problem, or someone’s you know.
> Some users should need your idea so urgently that they will even use the crappy first version.
> Find an idea which small number of users want in a large amount.
> Live in the future, then build what’s missing from the present. Be at the leading edge of a field.
> Don’t get discouraged with competitors. If your idea solves a problem that users urgently need, go for it. A crowded market is a validation that there is a demand and no product is good enough.
> Don’t try to avoid messy/tedious ideas. Turn off your schlep filter. Often valuable ideas are waiting down the messy street.
