This feature is still missing in the current version and often requested. And it’s coming finally in the new version. We have already implemented it and it’s in use in the alpha version. It’s even way better than what you see in the macOS version and has a ton more features. Besides creating, editing and deleting events and reminders you can also add an alarm, make them recurring, spanning multiple days, all-day and change in which iCloud calendar they should be saved. We will improve that in the macOS version as well when we rewrite it and add the remaining few options.

Create Events and Reminders in the new upcoming iOS version

Besides this we have improved the layout how events and reminders are displayed above the notes. We use two rows for each item, so details like time, alarm, recurring etc. can be indicated above the title. Also completed reminders will stay inside the list with a done icon and won’t just disappear. To edit an event you just tap on it and you will see the dialog shown above filled with the relevant data of this event for you to modify.

Maximized Event & Reminders List

You can also still minimize the list if you have too many items and don’t want to see them all the time (minimized by default) but additionally the minimized list (two items max) got smarter. It will always show you the next two upcoming events and hide past events, so strictly speaking you don’t need to maximize the whole list to stay up-to-date with your schedule anymore. Unnecessary information is hidden for you. Open reminders will also stay on top until you check them off. This way you can keep the list minimized and use it just like that, seeing only the relevant data.

As always reply here if you got feedback or on Twitter, Reddit or write us an email (hello@noteplan.co). This update above will be released in the new iOS upgrade coming soon. If you are on the email newsletter, we will notify you. Or watch for our tweets. It will come as TestFlight Beta first, so you can try it out.
